This guy, Roland Szentpali, is un-freaking-believable! He’s so modest about it too, on the site where he sell the sheet music for this piece he states:
The “Variations on a Hungarian Children Song” was an improvisation that I once played at the end of a concert. It was fun and the audience seemed to enjoy it; so, I later decided to write it down and use it as an encore.
The “Variations” are the kind of music musicians love the most: they are easy to play but sound really difficult. This makes the piece ideal as a final offering for recitals or concerts.
There is no way you can call this piece easy to play! It’s simply amazing! I wish I could tongue that fast.
